We love a challenge and are happy to consider your custom programming needs. If you have a technically challenging project (something beyond our bread and butter routine websites) feel free to call us and talk it over with us!
We take all stages of the web development and programming process seriously. Our main goal is to meet all of your needs and requirements as quickly as possible, and as accurately as possible. We want you to get what you wanted and we ensure that is happens by following certain procedures each time we work on a job.
1) The Wireframe: We build a working model (a simulation) of your website prior to programming it.
When we take on a custom programming project for you, we listen to you as you describe your needs and how you envision the finished project looking and functioning when it goes live.
From copious notes taken at these meetings we then begin by building a "wireframe" (a clickable simulation or model of how the new website will look and function after it has been programmed).
This wireframe represents our best interpretation of what you described to us in our initial meetings. This wireframe is designed to give you as much of a view of how the new website will look and feel and function as is possible without having to actually program it first. This wireframe process greatly reduces your cost (some say as much as 75%) instead of going to the programming phase right away and then constantly having to adjust the programming code to get it the way you want it.
The wireframe allows you the opportunity to click around the site and really see/feel how a visitor will navigate through the site. The wireframe is intended to provide you with an extremely close model/blueprint of how it's all going to look and work once we've programmed it.
We typically leave this wireframe available online for you to explore with your staff for a period of a few weeks. During this time we expect you to go through it in exacting detail - screen by screen and link by link. We're looking for you to alert us to anything that isn't as you intended it.
If you see changes that need to be made and you communicate these changes to us, we then implement those changes into a new version of the wireframe. When the newly updated wireframe is uploaded, we then afford you more time to look at it and play with it. It's common to go through as many as 2 or 3 iterations of the wireframe as we hone things down to your specific needs.
Once you're completely happy with the wireframe model, we then send the job out to programming.
This is a serious step. Changes that need to be made to the desired functionality or look of the website after we go to programming will almost always incur additional charges. When you sign off on the wireframe and have us proceed to the programming phase, you're essentially telling us that our wireframe model is exactly as you want your new website to look and function.
2) Testing Phase: During the programming phase, we (New Bedford Internet) will be running constant tests on the site as it is being developed. We want to ensure our programmers are implementing the site as you intend.
After an exhaustive programming/testing process, your site emerges from our programmer's studio and goes to our quality assurance people who will spend another exhaustive amount of time with your site making sure it is functioning properly. All this while, your programmed site is being compared to the agreed upon wireframe.
Once we're satisfied that your site is as you've asked for it to be, we deliver the site to you and then allow you a couple of weeks to play with it - entering your data and your content. This period provides you with the opportunity to make sure all is well with the site.
3) Warranty: In the unlikely event that something is not functioning as requested - the wireframe is our guideline for what was requested and what was not requested (you signed off on the wireframe remember!), we will fix those items free of charge.
Depending on the complexity of the project, we provide you with a warranty of either 30 days or 90 days so that you can discover, document and report to us any functionality problems. We will happily help correct these problems when reported to us in the warranty period.
Your project comes with a 30 day warranty, but if sufficiently complex, we may inform you that we've extended your warranty to 90 days.
