STATEMENT BY MATT MORRISSEY CONCERNING ENDORSEMENT
BY UNITED FOOD AND COMMERCIAL WORKERS LOCAL 791

“I am grateful and humbled by the vote of confidence that the hard working men and women of the United Food and Commercial Workers Local 791 have given me as I campaign for Mayor of New Bedford. The working families of our community, from the waterfront to the shop floor to the grocery store, are the backbone of our economy and our neighborhoods.

They know, as I know, that we CAN and MUST do better at creating real jobs, expanding
educational opportunity, and restoring safety to our streets. It is critical, as we
shape a new future for our city, that the voices of working people are heard
and respected."
