MORRISSEY CAMPAIGN LAUNCHES WEB SITE
“We CAN do better” campaign to demonstrate innovation

New Bedford mayoral candidate Matt Morrissey today launched a new interactive campaign web site designed to draw new voters into the election and create a new conversation about the future of the city. The address is www.MattForNewBedford.com.

“In the coming weeks, we will be adding tools to help people from across New Bedford tell us about their hopes and dreams, their fears and concerns…their ideas about how to build a stronger community,’’ Morrissey wrote in an email this morning to 200 campaign supporters and volunteers. “We are on our way to achieving our goal of both creating a fresh and innovative campaign for New Bedford, and we’re also doing it the old-fashioned way.”

At last week’s Day of Portugal Festival, the Morrissey campaign invited people into its 1413 Acushnet Avenue headquarters for lemonade and dialogue.

“Sixty-five people found that openness refreshing enough to sign on as volunteers,’’ Morrissey wrote. “Our headquarters – our campaign – will continue to have an open door policy and we will continue to encourage people to get involved by sharing their energy and ideas. The people are responding because they know we CAN do better.”
