Each of the eight
challengers for Mayor ran on
the sincere belief that New
Bedford requires new
leadership to reach its true
potential. I am grateful for
each vote that allowed me to
finish third in this
critical race about our
collective future. Voters,
however, clearly chose Scott
Lang as the agent of change.
I have gotten to know Scott,
and I believe that he will
bring real change to City
Hall. I am confident that he
will create a new focus on
restoring safety to our
streets, cleaning up our
neighborhoods and bringing
common sense and integrity
to City Hall.
Mayor Kalisz should be
thanked for his many years
of service to our city.
These have been difficult
years, and while we may
disagree on many things,
there is no question that
the mayor has been a
dedicated public servant.
But, this does not mean that
we owe him a vote. As a good
friend said early in the
campaign, "Loyalty is a
quality to be admired and
encouraged. But in this
election, my highest loyalty
is to the city of New
Bedford."
This Tuesday, November 8th,
take nothing for granted.
Even though the winds of
change seem to be blowing,
rain or shine, please get
yourself, your family and
your friends out to vote for
Scott Lang as the city’s
next Mayor.

We Can Do better, and under
Scott's Leadership, I
believe we WILL do better.
Sincerely,

Matt Morrissey
